e-commerce flower delivery app

Overview:
With so many options for purchasing flowers these days it can be time consuming and confusing browsing multiple flower shops and sites to find the perfect arrangement. Bloom was designed to bring arrangements from local florist to you, all in one place, no matter where you are.
Bloom is a flower delivery app that I developed, from conception to execution, for my UX certification. The goal of the project was to design screens for a mobile app that are intuitive and look beautiful; while meeting the specific needs of the user.

It features 3 key functionalities: an easy-to-use flower arrangement function, a intuitive search engine for products, a locator feature to find local florist nearby.
Competitive Analysis
My first step in the design process was to research similar flower delivery app in the market. This allowed me to identify their strengths and opportunities for my own app. I did an analysis of 2 competitors: 1800 flowers and Pro flowers.


Personas
After completing a competitive analysis, I recruited and interviewed 5 associates who are frequent flower shoppers in order to understand their needs and goals. I then created personas based on my research that helped me paint a clear and realistic picture of users goals, needs and behaviors.


Minimum Viable Product
Next, I gathered requirements on what features I needed to design for my app. I developed key user stories (from my personas) and minimum viable products (MVP's).
The MVP's would allow me to quickly test my designs on users , giving me valuable feedback early in the design process and to address any concerns right from the beginning.

To allow users to successfully navigate the app without issues and to view and order flower arrangements.
(MVP) Needs #1: When viewing a product it would be helpful to have a product discription.

(MVP) Needs #3: When searching for products, I would like to sort by color, type of flower & occasion.

Crazy 8's Wireframe
Using my personas, user flows and MVP's as a guide, I sketched out wireframes using the Crazy 8's method. After multiple sessions I picked out the designs that I felt addressed the MVP goals the best and converted them into prototypes in Figma.

Usability Testing
I recruited 5 participants to conduct remote moderate usability testing on my designs. During the test I asked them to complete a series of tasks that helped me to understand their thought process and see if they accomplish the MVP goals. This was also the perfect time to ask them about their likes and dislikes of the prototype.

After the user interviews, I synthesized and ranked my observations in concrete issues. This helped me prioritize and understand the most important pain points and propose new solutions and for my designs and ideas for my next iterations based on my results.

0= I don't agree that this is a usability problem.
1=Cosmetic problem only, need not be fixed unless extra time is available on the project.
3= I don't agree that this is a usability problem.
4= Usability catastrophe : imperative to fix before the product can be released.
2=Minor usability problem, fixing this should be given low priority
